Today’s broadcasters and content owners face the challenge of getting their digital assets organised quickly in order to reach their audiences across multiple platforms and devices, and TV2 is no different.

The Danish broadcaster, which has five subsidiary channels, has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to file based workflows and since 2008 has been 95% tapeless.

The Challenge
TV2 needed a comprehensive workflow solution for the ingest of its commercials to complete the transition to tapeless. It required a system that would automate and streamline its processes, allow remote ingest from third parties, lower operating costs, improve reporting, and integrate with its current broadcasting transmission and ad-sales systems.

The Solution

After thorough consultation, Nativ developed and integrated a total video logistics solution for TV2 based on its MioEverywhere platform. The new solution, which kicked off with the ingest of all TV2’s advertising content, enabled TV2 to streamline its processes, lower operating costs and improve reporting by automating and digitising its broadcast ingest workflow. Nativ has integrated MioEverywhere with the broadcaster’s transmission system as well as its legal and planning departments for seamless end-to-end file-based content management.

As well as integrating internally, the new system has integrated TV2’s production partners using Mio Desktop Client, an application for remotely validating and transferring large media files to the MioEverywhere platform. Mio Desktop Client enables TV2 to remotely validate and securely ingest content from their content providers into their automated workflow using MioEverywhere’s built in accelerated file transfer protocol. Once ingested, all validated content automatically goes through TV2’s customised workflow, which includes quality control, repurposing, metadata management and approval before being pushed into the broadcaster’s transmission system for playout.
