Defining the Business Need

Nativ began by carrying out business and requirements analysis and interviewing key staff within the client’s organization to gain a thorough insight into the proposed business models. All relevant processes and business rules were documented thoroughly and agreed by our client.

It was essential that the rights acquired by our client from their content partners were upheld at all times and that the possibility of content theft and exploitation was kept to an absolute minimum.

Specifying an End-to-End Solution

Nativ worked closely with its client to design a technical architecture which ensured that content deployed over its platform would be protected and managed with the Microsoft DRM framework and associated SDKs.

Such a system had to support content packaging, testing, dynamic license generation and key management. It also had to support integration into wider Windows Media Player APIs.

During the specification stage it was also important to pay due attention to issues related to security, compliance, scalability, fail-over and monitoring.

As a certified Windows Media and Windows DRM partner, Nativ was able to draw on its existing knowledge to design a solution rapidly. Nativ was also able to draw on its considerable video, workflow and systems integration skills.

Full Solution Delivery

The solution required the development and deployment of n-tier enterprise components to answer the business need and using C#, C++, Java and webservices technologies. Nativ’s solution was integrated into a number of other systems developed by its client, including rights, payment, authorization and monitoring systems.

The project was delivered on budget and on schedule and Nativ provides ongoing support and maintenance services.
