Digital video distribution system offers cure for iPad fever

The iPad’s been selling like nobody’s business in the States, with over 200,000 a week flying off the shelves. And we’re proud to say that within days of it launching in the US, we had a new adaptor ready to go.

This clever piece of kit allows brands and content owners to exploit the video potential of the iPad without any special coding or technology investment whatsoever. And given that video on the iPad looks set to be extremely popular, you can bet that marketers and content owners will want to make the most of the opportunity to reach more people.

In fact, we’re already doing an iPad digital video delivery project for a major global brand (sorry, we’re not naming names at this point).

The iPad adapter is just one example of MioEverywhere’s ability to respond quickly and easily to new channels as soon as they arrive in the marketplace. We can do that because of the flexibility built into MioEverywhere and it’s service-oriented architecture. It’s incredibly easy to add new channels.

The launch of another platform in the shape of the iPad and other tablets has also given the industry a kick up the backside. People are now taking the opportunity to look again at their entire digital video distribution system.

Platforms are just going to proliferate, and adding on more and more point solutions isn’t sustainable. If you’re finding it hard adding another silo to your tech stack to cater to the iPad, then it’s just going to get worse in the future.
